“If you don’t see yourself represented, go out and represent yourself!”
Iconic words from Adam Lamborghini, a local drag king who will be performing at Campbell River Pride this Saturday, June 18th.
Organizers from North Island Pride Society are inviting everyone to come out and represent themselves or show support for the city’s queer community.
The event will be a magical day full of art, rainbows, puppies and fantastic performances.
Celebrations will kick off at 12:30 p.m. at Robert V. Ostler Park with the first ever annual Paws for Pride dog walk. This is not just any walk. Your pups will strut their stuff and dress to impress. There are prizes for tricks and for best costumes!
Then, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., it’s the Pride Party at Spirit Square! This colourful family-friendly event is for all ages.
Come get your face painted and make some art, and stay for some fabulous and thought-provoking performances.
Live music with Mikel Planomaniac
Come see Mikel Planomaniac sing their heart out. They’re normally on Denman with their animal menagerie, so this is a rare opportunity!
Special guest activist & speaker Syrus Marcus Ware
Through his engagement with activism and art, Syrus Marcus Ware connects to communities and hope through a sense of freedom. He will take the stage at Campbell River Pride to talk about Black queer justice, trans justice, and liberation.
Visit Syrus at the CRAG tent to connect, make art, and meet a truly inspiring human being.
