It’s been nearly two weeks since Public Works found E. coli in Port McNeill’s drinking water. The town is still under a boil water advisory.
That means folks should boil tap water for at least a minute before drinking it, making ice, cooking, washing food, or brushing their teeth with it.
The last update showed up on the Port McNeill Facebook page on August 23rd at 9:00 a.m.
So far, the town hasn’t been able to figure out where the E. coli is coming from, though their Facebook page reported that some contamination was found at Broughton Strait Campground.
The regular town council meeting is tonight (August 24) on Zoom. So far, there is no word about updates at the meeting.
